Who we are
From personal battle to purposeful mission.
Lakeboone Cancercare & Comfort Foundation is a Nigerian NGO dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, offering navigation, love, and comfort to every person diagnosed. Since 2016, we have stood alongside women and families on this journey, because no one should face cancer alone.
Lakeboone CCF was founded by Abimbola Tunde-Onadele, a cancer survivor whose own journey became the heartbeat of this foundation.
Born and raised in Ibadan, Bimbo holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University (1985). A woman of deep faith and a devoted family person, she stepped away from paid employment to pour herself into what matters most: her family, her community, and a calling she could not ignore.
After her own battle with cancer, Abimbola experienced what she describes as God's merciful comfort in her darkest moments. That experience did not just heal her; it gave her a message. Convinced she had been comforted so that she could comfort others, she channeled her story into a book: Comforted! My Victory Over Cancer, a testament to how early detection, faith, family, and love can save a life.
Lakeboone CCF grew directly from that conviction. Since 2015, the foundation has been walking alongside women and families navigating a cancer diagnosis, providing awareness, navigation, spiritual support, and the kind of human warmth that no medical chart can offer.
Early detection is the key. Faith is the weapon. Love is the winning stroke.
